CAMBODIA

Cambodia, who played in the group stages of the AFF Suzuki Cup five times between 1996 and 2008, have failed to deliver in recent years.

In 2012, they lost all four matches in the qualifying tournament conceding 12 goals in the process. They were defeated by Timor Leste (5-1), old rivals Laos (1-0), Brunei DS (3-2) and Myanmar (3-0).

They fared even worse in qualifying for the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup, Philippines whacking them 8-0 and Turkmenistan hitting seven goals without reply.

Cambodia gave a better account of themselves at the qualifying tournament for the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup, ahead of their decline. After a 0-0 draw with Laos and a 4-2 victory over Timor Leste everything was riding on Cambodia's final game against The Philippines.

A win would have seen them progress but a 0-0 draw coupled with Laos' 6-1 victory over Timor Leste, saw Cambodia lose out on goal difference ending the qualifying competition tied on five points with the Laotians and the Philippines.

Lee Tae-hoon, who coached Cambodia from October 2010 to mid-2012, is back in charge of the team after Hok Sochetra and Prak Sovannara had spells at the helm of the Angkor Warriors.

Tournament Record: Played in the group stages on five occasions but not since 2008
Nickname(s): The Royal Khmer, Angkor Warriors
National coach: Lee Tae-hoon (Korea Republic)
