[Video] Aung Thu makes it three
Myanmar have come from behind to win 3-1 against Cambodia in their 2016 AFF Suzuki Cup Group B encounter at Thuwanna Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Sos Suhana opened the scoring after 14 minutes, shooting low into an unguarded net after a clever run from Chan Vathanaka had drawn goalkeeper Kyaw Zin Phyo off his line.
The hosts took time to get into the game, but started taking control after half an hour and were rewarded with two headed goals to Zaw Min Tun in a four-minute spell to complete a stunning turnaround before the break.
Aung Thu's goal in the 56th minute added to Myanmar's cushion, as the young striker showed once again why he is so highly rated.
Mg Mg Lwin's pass forward is deflected by a Cambodian defender and falls nicely for Aung Thu as the striker turns on the afterburners and jets into the box before firing home from an acute angle.
Four minutes after the equaliser, Myanmar are in front thanks to that man Zaw Min Tun once again. The defender is in the right place at the right time for a corner kick delivery from Nanda Kyaw as his towering header gives goalkeeper Sou Yaty no chance at all.
Nanda Kyaw's free kick into a crowded penalty box finds both Aung Thu and Zaw Min Tun in acres of space and the latter obliges with a backward header that ripples the back of the net.
The talismanic Chan Vathanaka gets top marks for creating this goal as he runs on to a ball, beating his marker near the left goal line to lure goalkeeper Kyaw Zin Phyo out of position. He then cuts the ball back to an awaiting So Suhana who fires into an empty net.
