Subra sidelined by knee injury
25-Oct-2012

Kelantan defender S. Subramaniam is likely to miss Malaysia’s campaign in the AFF Suzuki Cup because of a serious knee injury.
He sustained the injury in Kelantan’s victory over Armed Forces in the Malaysia Cup final last Saturday.
Subramaniam has been a rock at the heart of Kelantan’s defence this season as they roared to the domestic treble and was named in Malaysia coach K. Rajagobal’s preliminary squad for the AFF Suzuki Cup.
“I saw Subra’s injury and it is quite bad,” said Rajagobal.
“I have a pool of players to choose from. This is why I have tested many players in matches as that when issues like this arise, I have players to select from.”
Subramaniam had been hoping to make a quick recovery but after tests on his knee the defender was quoted by local media as saying that he had little chance of making the AFF Suzuki Cup.
Co-hosts Malaysia will play 2010 runners-up Indonesia, three-time winners Singapore and qualifiers Laos in Group B of the AFF Suzuki Cup from November 24-December 1.
