VFF eager for Official Draw of AFF Suzuki Cup 2012
05-Jul-2012

HANOI (4 July 2012) – With less than a week left to the official draw of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 in Thailand, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) are already looking ahead to the months ahead in the build up to the tournament at the end of November.
There is already an existing invitation from the FA of Indonesia (PSSI) to play two friendly matches in Jakarta although the VFF have indicated that whether they accept the games will depend on the outcome of the AFF Suzuki Cup draw in Bangkok on 11 July 2012.
"Whether or not we accept the invitation will depend on the result of the draw of the AFF Suzuki Cup next week," said Pham Ngoc Vien, the Vice President of the VFF.
"If both teams are not in the same group, then Vietnam will play two friendly matches against Indonesia to garner more international experience before the AFF Suzuki Cup kicks off late this year."
Vietnam won the AFF Suzuki Cup for the first time in 2008. The AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 will be held in Malaysia and Thailand this year.
