Vietnam target training camp in Japan or Slovakia; Philippines to play against Inferno and Virgin Islands

HANOI (19 July 2012) – The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) have identified either Japan or Slovakia as their likely destination for a training camp in preparation for the AFF Suzuki Cup this November.
The 2009 champions have penned in at least 10 international friendlies as they gear up for the challenge in Group A of the meet against hosts Thailand, the Philippines and the winner from the October qualifying round.
Prior to their training camp abroad, the team will take on Indonesia twice – on 15 September (at home in Hanoi) and then 22 September (away in Jakarta).
After the training camp, the team under chief coach Phan Thanh Hung will then take part in the annual VFF Cup which will involve teams from Iran, North Korea and Turmenistan on 24-28 October in HCM City.
The team will play three more friendlies after the VFF Cup before the first game of the AFF Suzuki Cup on 24 November.

MANILA – The Philippines national team will take on Chicago Inferno and the US Virgin Islands national side in the P/E Capital Investments Invitational Cup next month.
The team which is being prepared for the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 in November will be visiting Chicago and Indianapolis for several exhibition games in the United States.
According to Examiner, the Philippines team will play against the Chicago Inferno at the Wheaton’s Joe Bean stadium on 11 August before taking on the US Virgin Islands’ Dashing Eagle six days later.
For the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012, the Philippines are in Group A against hosts Thailand and Vietnam as well as the winner of the qualifying round in October.
