We need five quality matches before AFF Suzuki Cup: Schaefer
06-Jul-2012

BANGKOK (6 July 2012) – With the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 less than five months away Winfried Schaefer, the chief coach of Thailand, has indicated that the team will need at least five quality matches to better prepare the squad for the biennial championship.
The three-time winners of the ASEAN crown did not make the semi-finals of the last edition in 2010 and as Thailand will be co-hosting the meet this year alongside Malaysia, they will be eager to make sure that they can be competitive.
"English Premier League side Queens Park Rangers have cancelled their trip to Thailand so the FA of Thailand (FAT) have to help find teams to play the national side in the run-up to the AFF Suzuki Cup," said Schaefer.
The official draw for the AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 will be held on 11 July in Bangkok.
